Valentino Garavani Virtual Museum Launch Party

Valentino launched his virtual museum with a lot of fabulous and fashionable celebs. While not all of them went with a look I would have chosen, there was definitely a lot of fierce and some cutting edge fashion on the red carpet:

Silver and Gold

Because this fall and winter have been so busy for us, I haven't had as much time to decorate as I would have liked. But I am really looking forward to decorating our new house  over the holidays next year. I really love silver and gold themed decor and was very inspired by these ideas at Style At Home:

Best Dressed at the CMA's

There were some gorgeous gowns on the red carpet at the CMA's. Here are some of the best:

Faith Hill looked stunning in a sleek white Chado Ralph Rucci gown. I thought it was simple, but very flattering. Carrie Underwood brought the sparkle in her Reem Acra gown, she looked like the superstar that she is. Who doesn't love some sparkle? Jennifer Nettles drop waist grey gown also had some sparkle in it. I thought it was stunning, soft and elegant. Like Underwood, Hilary Scott also chose a sparkly Reem Acra gown, and I think it was my favorite look of the night. I love the cut, the material, and absolutely everything else about it.

Last but not least are Taylor Swift and Kimberly Williams Paisley. Swift chose a soft, sweet and elegant grey chiffon gown. She never dissapoints on the red carpet. Paisley looked fiery in a red gown. I thought it was simple, but flattering and certainly made her stand out among all of the other light colored gowns.

Home Decor Inspiration-Chic Dining Rooms

I am back from my week at The Ranch at Live Oak in Malibu feeling refreshed and I have some exciting news to share. My husband and I have bought a house, so we are going to be working on decorating and furnishing it starting in 2012. Although I plan on being in New York until next summer I am really excited for this new chapter in our lives together. Something I have missed out on in New York is having a real dining room, so here are some beautiful ones I have been looking at for inspiration for our new home:

Wedding Inspiration-Plums

After looking at all of the fabulous fall colors on the Emmys Red Carpet I got inspired to put together an inspiration board for a fall wedding that's perfectly plum! Enjoy:

Emmys Fashion Best and Worst

Best:
Both Julia Stiles and Heidi Klum looked beautiful in grey. I loved Stiles fitted gown with lace detailing, I thought it showed off her great body and made her look so sweet and feminine. Klum's dress was a little more funky, and was not everyone's favorite, but we all know I love girly ruffles, so I couldn't resist making her one of my best dressed. Sofia Vergara looked ravishing in red. She brought the sex appeal with her fitted one shoulder gown. She is definitely my motivation to get to the gym today. Sarah Hyland also chose a one shoulder gown, but the pleats and coral color gave her a softer look.
While I do not like that one strap hung off the shoulder, and the other did not, I thought Kelly Osborne looked fabulous. I have really enjoyed watching her physical and style evolution over the years and am always excited to see her on a red carpet. I already stated that Nina Dobrev was one of my favorites, but I had to say it again...She just looks so fabulous in that style and that color. Kerry Washington also looked stunning in red, but her sequin dress with the slightly sheer bottom was sexy in a more classic vintage way. She definitely popped on the red carpet. Rashida Jones looked soft and angelic in her strapless pink gown. Not only do I love her dress, but I also lover her hair and makeup.
Kyle Richards one shoulder mermaid gown not only flattered her figure and made her auburn hair pop, but it definitely stood out on the red carpet. I also loved that she accesorized with so many gorgeous jewels. Kate Winslet is always one of my favorites on the red carpet, and last night was no exception. She looked fantastic in her fitted red dress. Martha Plimpeton went for something edgy in an auburn sequin dress, and I thought she looked like a winner. Not only was it flattering, it was also fun. Finally,  Kristen Wiig went with a daring choice (brown is not a common red carpet choice) but pulled it off well. She looked beautiful, and elegant.

Worst:
Phoebe Price was just a hot mess. I love that she tried to bring fascinators to the red carpet, but her outfit and the hat were just too much and did not compliment her skin tone. Paz de la Huerta's dress was beautiful, but the hair and the earrings just made her overall look messy. Olivia Munn did not look terrible, it wouldn't be possible, she's to beautiful, but I thought she could have chose a more flattering dress (even though I loved the color). Finally, we all know Gwyneth Paltrow has a killer figure, but I thought by attempting the show it off in this dress she actually came off looking bad. I know other people loved her ensemble but it just didn't work for me.

Emmys Fashion

Here are the fashion trends from the Emmy's Red Carpet:

Blue:
Katie Holmes looked beautiful in her simple blue dress with a thin gold belt to show off her shape.
Claire Danes chose a very distracting patterned blue dress, but I loved it and thought it was daring and worth it. Heather Morrison's ruffled navy blue gown was unique and slightly sexy thanks to the low cut neckline. Cobie Smulders gown was a bright ocean blue, and while I loved the color I also really loved the cut of the dress as well.

Dianna Agron chose a simple yet beautiful jewel toned blue dress, while Amy Poehler also kept it simple in a dark blue, but the sequins really gave her look some extra oomph.

Deep Fall Tones:
Both navy and plum were popular colors on the red carpet, and great colors for fall. Melissa McCarthy and Jane Lynch chose simple plum gowns for their red carpet moments, while Minka Kelly and Christine Baranski went with navy. I loved Kelly's subtle yet sexy lace look, and thought Baranski looked stunning in her simple cap sleeve gown.

Red:
Both Nancy O'Dell and Giuliana Rancic chose simple strapless red gowns. While the style didn't pop, the color certainly did. Nina Dobrev chose a red mermaid style gown as well, and she looked stunning. One of my favorite looks of the night. Lea Michele also chose red to stand out on her look, but I didn't love the exaggerated shoulders.

Sparkles:
Obviously, this is my favorite trend, and I loved seeing it in so many different forms on the red carpet. Jennifer Carpenter looked fabulous in her gown with a sexy neckline, fit and slit up the leg. I just wish she had worn her hair up, or in a more structured style. Cat Deeley also chose a simple yet gorgeous gown with shiny accents, but I also wish she had done something different with her hair. Jayma Mays chose an ultra feminine gown, with just a little sparkle to give it an even more girly touch. I absolutely loved her look. And of course, January Jones brought the sex appeal in her fitted low cut gown with sparkle detailing.

Rachael Taylor chose a fringed sequin gown that looked absolutely amazing on her. Elisabeth Moss chose a stunning gown as well, but she is also someone who needed to add the right hair to get the added oomph. Julie Bowen look sexy and gorgeous in her low cut black gown with silver accents, and finally Evan Rachel Wood made a LBD something a little more because she brought the sparkle.
